Responsibilities

 

Schedule: Full-time and Part-time (each schedule includes weekday evenings AND 1 weekend day (9a-11p))

Location: Residential Mental Health Counselor positions may be available in the following communities (Bedford, Belmont, Waltham, Woburn)

 

Role Summary:
The Edinburg Center is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Mental Health Counselor to provide recovery-oriented rehabilitation services to assist people in their recovery.

 

Responsibilities:
The Mental Health Counselor will provide recovery-oriented psychosocial rehabilitation services, advocacy, and support to adults with mental health issues living in a Community Based Flexible Support (CBFS) residential treatment program.

 

  • Promote psychiatric rehabilitation and continued independence in daily living, community integration, self-advocacy, and self sufficiency
  • Teach and assist with activities of daily living, i.e. hygiene, housekeeping, shopping, cooking, budgeting, laundry, etc.                
  • Provide education, support, and assistance to consumers in the areas of wellness management, illness prevention, personal medicine, and medication management; monitors self-administration of medication, while teaching maximum independence.
  • Provide education, support, and assistance to consumers in the areas of peer-to-peer support services, WRAP, and other self-help recovery strategies

 

 

Qualifications

-High school diploma or equivalent required. BA or BS preferred. Experience preferred.

-Valid driver’s license required.

-First Aid, CPR, and MAP certification within three months of hire required.

-Basic computer skills required.
