Responsibilities

 The Edinburg Center is seeking a President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organization’s efforts to fulfill its vision, mission, core values and strategy and to provide management and direction to effectively carry out The Edinburg Center’s overall operations in a fiscally legally and programmatically responsible manner.

 

With a budget of $25 million, The Edinburg Center employs 360 staff to provide a wide range of services and supports to about 1500 individuals on an annual basis. Services include residential, respite, outreach, outpatient counseling and medication services, day treatment, clubhouse and children’s services which include in-home behavioral services, in-home therapy services, therapeutic mentoring and ABA services.

 

The Center's mission is distinguished by our longstanding belief that all individuals have the potential to learn, the capacity for change and the right to live a meaningful life in the community of his or her choice. Our mission is to provide an array of innovative services which promote personal growth and independence, foster hope and enhance the quality of life of individuals with mental health conditions, co-occurring substance use conditions and/or developmental disabilities and brain injury services.

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Be a dynamic leader who can inspire, motivate, mentor, communicate, think strategically, be a consensus builder, and be entrepreneurial and creative
  • Be passionate about our Center’s mission of providing services to individuals with mental health conditions, intellectual or developmental disabilities and brain injuries within a framework of wellness, recovery and enhancing the quality of life for adults, children and their families.
  • Possess integrity, humility, intelligence, optimism, confidence, and a sense of humor
  • Be skilled in a public policy, advocacy role while being a strong collaborator as a community partner. Build and maintain partnerships with state and local governmental entities, legislators, community groups, other providers, and advocacy groups. Established relationships with Massachusetts state agencies preferred
  • Be familiar with Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, Department of Developmental Services and MassHealth regulations and licensing requirements
  • Have a strong track record of working collaboratively with a Board of Directors and the communities it serves
  • Possess a strong business acumen with the ability to balance the running of a growing organization committed to quality care with the need to be fiscally strong; have a comfort level with taking calculated risks
  • Be a leader committed to diversity at every level of the organization
  • Have experience with an integrated model of behavioral health care
  • Have a track record of entrepreneurialism, innovation, diversification of revenue, and business development expertise; Have an understanding of behavioral healthcare and human services trends and possess a “global perspective”
  • Possess a management style that is inclusive, participatory, transparent, and engaging while being decisive and an effective problem solver; has a commitment to “team” and individual staff growth and development
  • Be technologically adept; be outcomes and metrics oriented; experience with EHR reporting capabilities highly desirable

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Establishes strategic and operational goals / plans and ensures their successful execution.
  • Provides oversight to ensure effective management of programmatic, administrative and fiscal operations.
  • Develops annual budget in conjunction with the CFO and approved by the Board of Directors which aligns with the organization’s strategic and operational goals.  
  • Oversees financial performance, marketing, public relations and fundraising.  
  • Keeps abreast of emerging healthcare and service delivery trends.
  • Represents and maintains collaborative relationships with State regulatory and funding agencies, legislators and community and healthcare agencies.
  • Conducts Union negotiations annually.

 

Qualifications

 

Qualifications:

 

Master’s degree in a related field.

 

Fifteen or more years of CEO or senior leadership healthcare / human services experience required.

 

Demonstrated ability to establish and lead strategic planning and operational efforts in conjunction with a Board of Directors.

 

Demonstrated experience effectively collaborating with State funding agencies.

 

Demonstrated ability to oversee budget preparation, analysis, decision-making and reporting.

 

Demonstrated ability to ensure organization operates within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.

 

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain exceptional relationships with all staff levels, individuals receiving services from the organization, their families and external entities.

 

Special commitment to diversity and inclusion.

 

Strong written, oral communication and public speaking skills.

 

Experience working collaboratively and effectively with Unions preferred.
